Ellerton Primary School

The Special Unit at Ellerton Primary caters to children with special needs and who may be extremely challenged in the area of self-help skills; feeding themselves efficiently, sitting still long enough to complete simple tasks and toileting to name a few. Some of the conditions include autism, Downs Syndrome and ADHD. With each child functioning at a different level, teachers in the Special Unit have to cater to each child as individually as possible in a group setting.

Long-time teacher at Ellerton’s Special Unit Ms. Heather Wiggins, along with Principal, Mrs. Donna Allman were very touched on receiving news of the assistance for Legacy Foundation.

Mrs. Allman said “The Staff and pupils of the Ellerton Primary School and Special Unit wish to express their sincere thanks to the Legacy Foundation.  We greatly appreciate the donation of materials and funding for our school projects.  The funding will be of great benefit to those students who need the additional assistive care and we look forward to partnering with Legacy Foundation in the future.”
